Telemedicine and electronic private medical prescription

As a participant of Barcelona Health Hub specifically in the working panel for the promotion of telemedicine in Spain I would like to share with you our latest webinar https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=600&v=gdhvjBpA0q0&feature=emb_logo where you can listen different issues that make the technologies applied to telemedicine and electronic prescription key elements for the future of health management. We talk about electronic private medical prescription in telemedicine.

Telemedicine and electronic private medical prescription

Our project tries to provide a formal study to increase the use of telemedicine in the health system, being at this time of pandemic a key tool that would allow private and public health to be more efficient in many aspects.

We are at a time when it is evident that telemedicine can take away physical health by providing many improvements. Telemedicine gives flexibility and scalability in prescribing and is highly comfortable for the patient, being the only way to meet the demand today, with only going to the hospital being the last measure.

Beyond this evidence, structural change should be promoted with opportune limits in the establishment of a virtual medical act to try to change the regulation. We have a very big opportunity. It is obvious that sometimes the contact between doctors and patients cannot be avoided but in many cases it is possible to make the first contact and even in some cases the primary prescription.

For the primary prescription, the approval of the private virtual medical prescription provides all the requirements that the prescription software must incorporate, such as:

  1. Control and assistance in the prescription.
  2. Allergy control, privacy, dosage, etc.
  3. Data protection of all our information.
  4. Pharmacy connectivity.
  5. Medical-pharmacy dispensing and communication.

To do this, the WTO, in this link, explains precisely all the requirements that private electronic medical prescription software must meet, requiring the collaboration of an external auditor. As the first auditor in Spain, I work with a dozen software companies that are currently being approved.

Luis Vilanova Blanco. Electronic private medical prescription auditor.
